Niuafo'ou The Tongan Treasure
When the elderly spoke Tongan, I could hear a trace of Niuafo’ou in their intonation. Its beauty warmed my heart.
Later, during the service at the Sapa’ata Free Wesleyan Church, I finally heard Niuafo’ou sung by the Church choir. It brought tears to my eyes. I was profoundly touched. I made a decision: I would do anything I could to bring this language back to life.
